Microsoft 365: OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams

Connect your Microsoft account and Saelyx can save your minutes to OneDrive or SharePoint, send them from your Outlook account and post a summary to the meeting's Teams chat. Each permission is granted separately, and nothing leaves your account unless you confirm it.

Pro only

Saving, sending and posting are Pro features. See Account and plans.

Note

The Mac app and the web account are still partly in Spanish. This guide names settings in English; if you see the Spanish original, it's the same setting.

What it does and doesn't do

  • It reads your calendar to recognise the meeting and its attendees.
  • It saves the minutes (and, if you want, the transcript) to the folder you choose.
  • It sends the minutes by Outlook and posts a summary to Teams, only when you confirm.
  • It doesn't read your email, doesn't read or list the contents of your files (from SharePoint it only sees site and library names so you can pick a destination) and doesn't read Teams messages.
  • It deletes nothing in your OneDrive or SharePoint: it only creates a file or replaces the one with the same name.
  • It doesn't store the content of emails, events or chats. It stores the account's email address, an encrypted refresh token, your destination preferences and the state of each copy.

Permissions by block

Microsoft asks for each block's permission when you turn it on, and doesn't repeat the ones you already granted. They are delegated permissions: with no account connected, Saelyx accesses nothing.

Block on screen What it's for Account
Calendar Read your calendar to recognise the meeting and its attendees Personal or work
OneDrive Save the minutes and files you choose to a folder in your OneDrive Personal or work
SharePoint Search sites and libraries and save to the one you pick Work or school only
Outlook mail Send the minutes from your account, only when you confirm Personal or work
Teams chat Post a summary to the meeting chat, only when you confirm Work or school only

With a personal account, SharePoint and Teams aren't available: the screen says so ("Only available with a work or school account"). OneDrive and Outlook do work.

Connect your account

  1. Open the Microsoft 365 sheet:
  2. Mac: Settings → Account → Microsoft 365 → Save and send…
  3. iPhone: More → Your account → Save and send
  4. Web: Account → Repository and Account → Sending
  5. Under Permissions, tap Grant permission on the block you want.
  6. Authorise on the Microsoft screen. When you return, the block shows as granted.

If you cancel on the Microsoft screen you'll see "You canceled the permission. Nothing was connected." If the session expires you'll see "Session expired · reconnect" and a Reconnect button.

Where the minutes are saved

On the sheet, under Where the minutes are saved:

Setting Values Default
Destination OneDrive or SharePoint OneDrive
Folder Up to 200 characters, no .. Saelyx/Actas
Search for a SharePoint site Search a site (at least 2 characters) and pick its library —
Save the minutes automatically Yes / No Yes
Also save the transcript Yes / No No

Tap Save to apply the changes ("Settings saved").

Careful

The transcript includes the voices of other people in the meeting. Save it only if they know.

With automatic saving on, the minutes are copied on their own once they finish processing. To save by hand, open the meeting and use Meetings → the meeting → share → Microsoft 365 → Save to OneDrive/SharePoint. Under Recent copies you see the state of each copy (Pending, Saving…, Saved or Failed), can Open one that is saved and Retry one that failed.

If the content and the destination haven't changed, Saelyx doesn't upload the copy again.

Send the minutes by Outlook

Sending always takes two steps.

  1. Open the meeting and choose Microsoft 365 → Send with Outlook….
  2. Saelyx prepares the draft: it looks for the calendar event (if it can't find one, use Choose the event), suggests the event's attendees as recipients and lets you add addresses. You can write a note of up to 500 characters.
  3. Check the Preview, which includes a sentence saying what will happen. The minutes go in the body of the email and, if they aren't too large, as a Word attachment.
  4. Tap Send. You'll see "Sent to N people".

The draft is single-use and expires after 5 minutes. If the minutes change after the preview, or the draft expires, tap Prepare again. The email leaves from your own mailbox. There's a limit of 25 sends a day and 50 recipients per send.

Careful

Saelyx can't undo an email once it's sent. If you see "We don't know if it was sent. Check your Sent folder before trying again.", look in Sent before repeating it.

Post to Teams

It works the same way, with Microsoft 365 → Post to Teams…: preview, your confirmation and a summary of the minutes in the meeting chat. It needs a work or school account and the meeting must have a Teams chat ("That meeting has no Teams chat to post to"). If you don't know whether it was posted, check the chat before trying again.

If something fails

Message What to do
"Microsoft 365 is not connected" Connect it from the Microsoft 365 sheet
"The … permission is missing" Tap Grant permission on that block
"Your Microsoft session has expired" Tap Reconnect
"An administrator in your organization has to approve Saelyx…" See the next section
"Microsoft did not allow this with your account…" Your organisation restricts it or you don't have access to that site; talk to your administrator
"The confirmation has expired" Prepare the send again
"You've reached today's sending limit" You can send more tomorrow
"The file is locked in Microsoft 365" Close it wherever it's open and retry
"There is no space left in your OneDrive or SharePoint" Free up space
"Microsoft is limiting requests" Wait a little and retry
"The transcript is no longer available…" Its retention period has passed; only the minutes can be copied

If your organisation blocks the permission

Some organisations require an administrator to approve Saelyx before any user can grant permissions. You'll then see "Your organization needs an administrator to approve Saelyx before this permission can be granted", with two buttons: Open the administrator guide and Copy message for my administrator. The guide for your administrator is on the administrators page.

Disconnect

Tap Disconnect Microsoft on the sheet. Saelyx will stop reading your calendar and saving or sending minutes. What is already in your OneDrive or SharePoint is not deleted, and you can reconnect whenever you like. You can also revoke access from your Microsoft account.
