Known limitations

This is what Saelyx does not do, what it only does on certain devices or plans, and the numbers worth knowing. The underlying rule: when it cannot do something, it tells you; it does not pretend to do it.

What it does not do by design

  • It does not act without your yes on anything irreversible. Before sending, deleting, publishing, running a terminal command with an effect or making a click that looks like a payment, it reads it out and waits for your confirmation. Creating and editing are not asked about every time.
  • It does not delete for good. On the Mac, what it deletes goes to the Trash.
  • Microsoft 365. It does not read your mail, your Teams messages or the content of your files, and it deletes nothing in OneDrive or SharePoint: it only creates or replaces the file with the same name. Details in Microsoft 365.
  • Calendar: read-only. It does not create or change events (Connectors).
  • The internet: it reads, it does not crawl. It searches and reads a page when you ask; it does not follow links, sign in or fill in forms. It identifies itself as SaelyxBot.
  • Roles guide. Doctor, Lawyer or Financial advisor do not replace a professional.
  • It is an AI and can be wrong. Check anything that matters before you decide.

Things that do not exist today: a list of apps excluded from capture (to stop everything at once, ⌘⇧P pauses screen capture), pausing by keyword, and automatic deletion of the local history by age (you delete it by hand with the “Delete history now” button). Nor is there an Android app.

Other caps:

  • Meeting documents: up to 10, with a maximum of 60,000 characters in total.
  • Sending the minutes by Outlook: 25 sends a day, 50 recipients and a 500-character note. The preview expires after 5 minutes and works only once.
  • Share with Saelyx (Mac): up to 10 files, 10 images and one link, or text; 25 MB per item. Images are scaled down to about 720 pixels.
  • Pairing codes (Remote and Apple Watch): 6 digits, they expire after 5 minutes.
  • Odoo: public servers over https only; logging hours, up to 4 per line and 10 a day.
  • Dictation history in Account → Sessions: 90 days.
  • Copies in OneDrive: if two files in the Files section share a name, the second overwrites the first without warning.

How it tells you when it cannot

With a sentence and, when there is one, a way out. Some examples, as the app words them in English:

  • “Your session expired · sign in again in Settings → Account.”
  • “You've used up your voice minutes for this month.” and “Your minutes renew with your next cycle.”
  • “You've hit today's voice session limit” and “It resets tomorrow.”
  • “Saelyx can't speak right now because of a capacity limit on our end, not yours. It'll be back on its own once that resets.”
  • On the watch: “Necesito tu iPhone cerca” (I need your iPhone nearby), which today appears in Spanish.

The rest, with their fixes, are in Troubleshooting.
