Talking to Saelyx: voice, screen and camera¶

Saelyx listens to you and, if you decide so, also sees your screen and your camera, at once and in real time. This page covers how to talk, when it sees anything and how to adjust how it sounds, what it is called and what role it takes.

Talking and interrupting¶

• Starting. On the Mac, press the 🌐 (Fn) key or the Despertar a Saelyx button on the home screen. On iPhone and iPad, tap the orb on the home screen («Toca para despertar a Saelyx», Tap to wake Saelyx). Once, and you are talking.
• Interrupting. Out of the box you can talk over it. If you would rather it did not hear you while it speaks, in Ajustes → Audio → Modo de conversación (Settings → Audio → Conversation mode) choose No me interrumpe: your microphone is muted while it speaks and, to cut in, you press 🌐 or the button. The default mode works better with headphones.
• Going to sleep. If you neither speak nor type to it for 3 minutes it closes the session quietly and stops using your allowance. Change it in Ajustes → Audio → Dormirse sola: 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or never. In a meeting it never sleeps.
• Typing to it. When you cannot talk, use chat: Chat in the Mac sidebar, Más → Chat (More → Chat) on iPhone or Tu Saelyx → Chat (Your Saelyx → Chat) on the web. It uses the same tools as the voice in each app. On Free you get 8 messages a day.

Languages¶

Saelyx talks in Spanish and English. Today the apps' interface is in Spanish.

What it sees and when¶

It only sees your screen or your camera if you turn that on. Both are Pro.

Screen¶

• Turning it on. On the Mac, Ajustes → Pantalla → Permitir que Saelyx vea tu pantalla, or the Compartir pantalla switch on the home screen. It starts off. The first time a consent notice appears; if you decline, the switch turns back off. On iPhone, the Pantalla button on the home screen.
• System permission. macOS asks for the screen recording permission and only applies it after Saelyx is restarted; in Ajustes → Pantalla there is a Reiniciar Saelyx button.
• You always know. An on-screen indicator tells you whenever Saelyx is seeing your screen. It also keeps a local log with only the date and the duration, never what it saw. You see it, revoke the permission per type or delete it in Ajustes → Privacidad → Capturas de pantalla · consentimiento y registro.
• Pause instantly. ⌘⇧P pauses capture. Today you cannot exclude specific apps.
• Capture settings. In Ajustes → Pantalla: Frames por segundo (frames per second, 1 to 10) and Calidad JPEG (JPEG quality, 30 to 90).

Camera¶

You turn it on and off. On the Mac, Compartir cámara on the home screen: the webcam, a USB camera or your iPhone as a camera. On iPhone, the Cámara button. Up to 10 photos a day on Pro; each new photo costs 2 units.

Attached photos and documents¶

Press Adjuntar on the home screen (on the Mac you can also drop or paste files). Attaching is free.

• Files. PDF, Office, HTML and plain text. Saelyx extracts the text and passes it to the conversation as a message from you.
• Images. They are reduced to about 720 pixels before being sent.
• Conversation. Attaching wakes the conversation if it was asleep, and the conversation uses units. If it is not ready within about 10 seconds, the file is not sent and you have to attach it again.

Share with Saelyx, on the Mac¶

From any Mac app, the system Share menu includes Saelyx. It is the same as attaching, through a different door: the extension leaves the item in a local mailbox and opens Saelyx, which handles items one at a time. It accepts up to 10 files, 10 images, 1 web link or text, with a limit of 25 MB per item. If you share something while “Solo grabar” (record only) is on in a meeting, it waits until the meeting ends.

Reading aloud¶

Having Saelyx read texts and reminders aloud is Pro. In Ajustes → Audio → Voz de lectura you choose which voice, from several for Spain, Mexico and Latin America, and you hear it with Probar voz. Reminders are spoken aloud if the app is open; you control that in Ajustes → General → Notificaciones.

Voice, roles and name¶

• Its voice. In Ajustes → Audio → Voz del agente you choose among several voices, with ▶ to hear a sample. ⌘⇧V switches voice.
• Roles. There are 15: the usual assistant and 14 specialists (engineer, DevOps, doctor, teacher, financial, lawyer, psychologist, dietitian, translator, writer, scientist, aesthetician, veterinarian and self-help). You switch from one to another without restarting the conversation and all of them keep your memory. On the Mac, with the role button in the header of the menu bar panel; on iPhone, from the home screen. They guide; they do not replace a professional.
• Name. In Ajustes → General you change what the assistant is called (Saelyx by default) and what it calls you.
