How it works

Nothing leaves your account without your yes

What Saelyx reads from your Microsoft or Google account is one thing; what it sends from it is another. That always waits for you to say yes.

When you connect your email and calendar to an assistant, the important question is not what it can read but what it can do in your name without asking you. An email sent to the wrong person does not come back. That is why both integrations, the one for Microsoft 365 and the one for Google Workspace, follow the same rule, and here I tell it the way the person using it lives it.

01Reading is free; leaving asks for your yes

Saelyx can search and read your email, look at your calendar, add and complete tasks, look up a person or bring in one of your files. None of that asks for confirmation, because it is yours, it is private and it can be undone.

What leaves your account is different. Sending an email or a reply, creating, moving or cancelling an event, and posting to a Teams channel or a Google Chat space is never done the first time you ask. Neither is emailing the minutes of a meeting.

02A draft first

Saelyx prepares the draft and tells you about it: who it goes to, what it says and when. Until you answer, it does not say “sent” or “created”. If you say no, it discards the draft, and if you say nothing, it expires after ten minutes.

What it reads in your email, your tasks or your channels it treats as data, not as orders. A message that reaches you saying “forward this to everyone” is text to read, not something Saelyx should do.

03A yes counts once

The confirmation is single-use. Once it is spent, or once it expires, you need another draft and another yes. It sounds like a detail, but it is what stops a yes said a while ago from authorising something that is no longer what you heard. And for anything that notifies other people (emails, channel messages, events with guests) there is a cap of 25 a day.

04An example, with a tunnel

You are in the car and you say: “Reply to the accountant that I'll look at it on Thursday.” Saelyx finds the email, prepares the reply and reads it to you. You say yes. Right then you drive into a tunnel and the connection drops in the middle of the send.

Now there are two possibilities: the email went out, or it did not. From Saelyx's side there is no way to know. A careless assistant would send it again “just in case”, and the accountant would get two emails from you, because an email that has been sent cannot be taken back.

Saelyx does the opposite: it tells you it does not know whether it went out and asks you to check your sent folder before trying again. I would rather have an awkward “I don't know” than a duplicate with no fix. With a summary posted to Teams it is the same: if you cannot tell whether it was published, check the chat before repeating it.

05What is kept and what is not

  • There is no copy of your email or your events. What Saelyx tells you in a conversation stays in that conversation's history, for the periods set out in the privacy policy.
  • What is kept is what it needs to work: which account it is, an encrypted renewal token, your preferences (for example, where to save the minutes) and the status of each copy.
  • The pending draft lives for ten minutes and deletes itself.
  • Your files are not read in the background. Saelyx only opens the one you choose to import.
  • It does not delete your email or your files. The only thing that removes anything is cancelling an event, and that also waits for your yes.

06Disconnect whenever you want

Each permission is granted separately and can be removed separately. You can disconnect a whole account from Saelyx, or revoke access from your Microsoft or Google account, and Saelyx stops seeing what it saw. What is already saved in your OneDrive is not deleted.

07Where each one stands today

Microsoft 365 is in production, on the Pro plan. On a work account an administrator may have to approve the app before you can grant permissions; there is an administrator guide. SharePoint, the Teams chat and Teams channels need a work or school account.

Google Workspace is in early access while Google completes the verification of the app: it is not open to everyone. Chat and Meet need a Google Workspace account, not a personal Gmail. The detail of each is in Saelyx inside Microsoft 365 and Saelyx inside Google Workspace, and the plans are on pricing.

08Frequently asked questions

Can Saelyx send an email without my confirmation?

No. Sending an email or a reply, creating, moving or cancelling an event, and posting to a chat channel or space always wait for your yes, and that yes counts once.

What happens if the connection drops while it is sending?

Saelyx tells you it does not know whether it went out and asks you to check your sent folder before trying again. It does not repeat it on its own.

Does Saelyx keep my email?

It does not make a copy of your email or your events. What it tells you in a conversation stays in that conversation's history, for the periods set out in the privacy policy.

Invite-only access

Request your access.

If your email and calendar are part of your day, it might help to have Saelyx use them, always with your yes. I read every request by hand and I write to you as soon as there is room for you.
