You're driving and you want to ask Saelyx something. Your hands are on the wheel and the iPhone stays where it is. Version 1.1.41 of Saelyx for iPhone adds CarPlay: you talk to Saelyx from your car's screen.
01Talking without taking your hands off the wheel
Tap Saelyx's icon on the car's screen and say what you need. Saelyx talks with you from there, and you don't have to pick up the iPhone. It's for cars with CarPlay.
02With the iPhone locked
Here is a rule worth knowing. With your iPhone locked, the car talks with you but won't open your mail, calendar or notes until you unlock it. You can change this in Saelyx's settings.
There's a fix in the same area: the app now starts correctly from the car even when your iPhone is locked.
03Images, attachments and diagnostics
- Images and attachments. Saelyx reads the text in what you show it and keeps the latest things you showed it in mind.
- Diagnostics. If something goes wrong and you ask me for help, you share the app log in one tap.
04Three security changes
- Signing out also deletes the dictations and the log of the account that signs out.
- The connection between your Mac and your iPhone uses a key unique to each device.
- Resuming the microphone from Siri or Shortcuts asks you to unlock your iPhone.
05And on the Mac
The Mac has changed too since the end of October. What has arrived:
- Microsoft 365, all of it. By voice or chat you search and read your Outlook email, check your agenda, create tasks in To Do, save notes in OneNote, work with files in OneDrive and SharePoint and look at your Teams channels. An email, an event or a channel message waits for your yes before it goes out. It's part of the Pro plan, and I tell the story in Saelyx inside Microsoft 365.
- Google Workspace and “Connections”. You connect your Google account from the app, block by block: Gmail, agenda, tasks, contacts, Drive, Chat and Meet. It's still in early access while Google completes the app's verification. Settings has a new section, “Connections”, that replaces the “Calendars” card: each block says what Saelyx can read, what it can do and what state it's in. The story is in Saelyx inside Google Workspace.
- Share with Saelyx. In any app's Share menu you pick Saelyx. What you share, whether a file, an image, a link or some text, reaches Saelyx as if you had attached it with the “+”.
- Record only («Solo grabar» in the app). In a meeting with record only, Saelyx doesn't take live notes or reply while it lasts: it transcribes and, when the meeting ends, leaves you the minutes. What you attach or share during the meeting waits and goes out when you close it. It uses no meeting units.
- Study mode («Modo estudio»). Mac only, and by voice. It explains the question you have on screen, with the answer, the why and what to review. It comes switched off and doesn't coexist with Meeting Mode.
If you already use Saelyx, update the iPhone and try CarPlay. If something goes wrong in the car, write to me at info@saelyx.ai and attach the app log.
